Simple: Change X Resolutions on the Fly
From McGhee, James on Mon, 06 Mar 2000
Dude,
I don't know if you can answer this. What is the 3 key combination to change
the display resolution in the Linux gui?
Thanks,
James McGhee
What kind of "Answer Guy" would I be if I didn't know
that!?! You have two to choose from:
[Ctrl]+[Alt][+]
or
[Ctrl]+[Alt][-]
Those MUST be the [+] (plus) and [-] (minus) keys ON
THE NUMERIC KEYPAD. The ones in your main alphanumeric
cluster won't work for this.
Note that this will only work if you've configured X
with multiple resolutions defined. Also it only changes
resolutions. If you want to change color depth you
have to exit X and restart it (usually using the -bpp
option).
